The Mårdseleforsen rapids

One of the most magnificent and dramatic rapid landscapes along the Vindel River and in Västerbotten. Today, Mårdseleforsen Nature Reserve is a popular destination and a beautiful place to stop when travelling along the Vindel River.

The area features dramatic rapids, impressive glacial potholes, old-growth forest and remains from the timber-floating era. Suspension bridges connect the small islands among the rapids, allowing visitors to experience the powerful river at close range.

Mårdseleforsen is located approximately 70 kilometres north of Vindeln, along road 363 just north of the village of Mårdsele.
