My day as a reindeer herder!
The visit starts with a hot drink in the family’s lávvu, a traditional Sámi tent. What happens next depends on the season, the weather and where the reindeer are. You might look for reindeer tracks in the forest, gather hanging lichen or practise throwing a lasso. When the reindeer are on site, you may be able to help feed them or look after the enclosure.
This experience is for anyone who enjoys being outdoors and wants to get hands-on. The reindeer are only on site for part of the year, so ask Sámi Soul what to expect around the time of your visit. The six-hour experience includes a light traditional Sámi meal by an open fire.
